I have had the privilege and honor of knowing Bobby Hayden Jr. and Lexi Lee Laconi for over two years now. They are my personal friends as we have prayed, worshipped and shared meals together (they love my curried cooking and I love them); I have attended their TBN tapings, Celebrate Recovery Events, and have the privilege of finding my new Church through them as well. Bobby’s life story reads like a Tragic Hollywood Novel of Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll. Except in this case, there is no overdose, no death but a brand new life through the saving grace of Jesus Christ. His is a story of Hope, Redemption and Love. Last, but not least, Bobby embodies his new life and lives it as a “witness” to audiences worldwide. Bobby was an Ex-Heroin Addict who lived on Skid Row in LA California, until the Hope of Jesus Christ was brought to him by a person named Esperanza (which means “Hope” in Spanish). He has been featured on Daystar, TBN, CBN amongst others. Even Secular Television stations have featured him on their shows. The Indianapolis Star recently featured him in a story as well. Bobby is “A Man on a Mission” to help save and minister to the addicts, the homeless and the hurting.
Along his path of recovery, he met a young lady, Miss. Lexi Lee Laconi who has graciously come alongside to help perform on the Piano, and provide backup vocals as well. In addition, she handles the daily administrative work of a new ministry www.cardboardboxministries.org that is growing along with their musical collaborations.
Just as Jesus sent his disciples out in two’s such is the case of these two ministry partners. Last year after receiving an invitation to speak at an event for the Homeless in Dallas Texas by Susie Jennings of Operation Care International, they were invited to make a trip to Israel. Upon their return, Bobby ministered at an event for the Homeless, in Dallas TX. Shortly thereafter, God began to speak to Lexi regarding hosting a Christmas Party in Indianapolis for the Homeless. Although Bobby was skeptical at first, God proved to them both that He had orchestrated the events that brought about this amazing event of the very first ever Christmas Gift Indianapolis, a Christmas Party honoring the birth of Jesus and serving the Homeless.
In keeping with one of Bobby’s and Lexi’s favorite Bible verse in Matthew 25:40 “Whatever you do to the least of these brothers and sisters of mine; you did unto me.” they invite you to join them as part of this even, by either donating or volunteering by signing up at (www.christmasgiftindianapolis.org).
